Quits the Checksum program.

This option is not implemented yet.  Wait until the next version.

Control whether results will go to the screen or a disk file; also specify what type of file the results will be.

You must have something to save first.

Save the status window contents to a file.

You must have a status window open before you can close it.

Close the current status window.

You must create a New status window before you can open a file.

Open a file to calculate the checksum. Press shift to Select a folder, volume or alias.

This window is only available after closing the status window.

Create a new window for results display.

File menu

Use this menu to open files to calculate checksums, to open or close the status window, or to quit the Checksum program.

Treat carriage-return end-of-line characters as if they were a carriage-return line-feed pair (normal MS-DOS end-of-line character).

Treat end-of-line character as if the file was on an MS-DOS® system (i.e., convert carriage-returns to carriage-return / line-feed pairs).

Treat carriage-return end-of-line characters as if they were a line-feed (normal Unix end-of-line character).

Treat end-of-line character as if the file was on a Unix™ system (i.e., convert carriage-returns to line-feeds).

No end-of-line conversion will take place.

Treat end-of-line normally (i.e., no conversion).

You must select “‘TEXT’ special” before you can use this sub-menu.

Specify how to treat end-of-line characters for ‘TEXT’ files.

Set Checksum reporting preferences.

Use this option to select all  results from the status window to copy to the clipboard. You must have Opened a file to use this option.

Selects all the text in the status window for copying to the Clipboard.

Sorry, this option is not available in this program. To clear the status window, select “Close” from the “File” menu, then select “New”.



Use this option to copy results from the status window to the clipboard. You must have Opened a file to use this option.

Places a copy of the selected text temporarily on the Clipboard.

Edit menu

Use this menu to copy text from the status window to the clipboard.

Select this option to enter the CRC polynomial you want to use for checksum calculations.

This option is not implemented yet.  Wait until the next version.



The 32 bit checksum polynomial you defined will be used.





The standard CCITT 32 bit checksum polynomial will be used.

Selecting this option will cause the standard CCITT 32 bit checksum polynomial to be used.

The POSIX.2 32 bit checksum polynomial will be used.

Selecting this option will cause the POSIX.2 32 bit checksum polynomial to be used.

The standard Zip / Z-Modem / Brik 32 bit checksum polynomial will be used.

Selecting this option will cause the “Zip” 32 bit checksum polynomial to be used (same as used in Z-Modem, Brik and Compact Pro).

The 16 bit checksum polynomial you defined will be used.

Selecting this option will cause the custom checksum polynomial you defined to be used.
